Mayor Observes Moneni TB Survey
As an indication that he is really in touch with the people and that he cares about the health of citizens, the Mayor of Manzini, Mxolisi Mabuza, last Thursday visited Moneni and observed the ongoing National Tuberculosis Prevalence Survey. He was accompanied by Ward Councillor Henry Kunene, community volunteers and officials from the Ministry of Health; which is the one that is conducting the survey. The mayor encouraged residents of Moneni to welcome the Ministry of Health survey team to their residences and participate in the survey which began on the 2nd January 2019.
The Mayor was captivated by the extent of community involvement in this great initiative. He expressed his gratitude on the service brought by the ministry to the community free of charge. He also marveled at the sophisticated TB Screening and Testing equipment used on site. The survey is meant to make the national Government understand the extent of TB prevalence in the country so that relevant and efficient interventions can be put in place. Participation in the survey will enable residents to screen and know their status as well as get proper medical assistance if found to have TB. Manzini News would like to clarify that a number of clusters (samples) have been selected for the survey nationwide and Moneni is one of them. Zakhele is another selected cluster in Manzini hence the survey team will be moving door-to-door on a similar exercise in Zakhele from tomorrow up to the 15th of this month. Again, residents are requested to cooperate with the team.
